The 1st of December represents Romania’s National Day. We, at www.yourtale.ro, wanted to do things differently this year. Therefore, we wanted to see how a Turkish student would celebrate this day. Fatma is an exchange student that is currently studying in Romania. She spent Romania’s National Day with us and here are her impressions about this experience:
“It was so new and exciting for me! It was the first time in my life when I celebrated a country’s national day and it wasn’t Turkey’s. The big streets were closed and the squares were incredibly crowded. All the people and particularly children were very happy. And it made me happy too. I shared the same mirth, enthusiasm and joy with them. I was shaking the Romanian flag with them, while we were all watching the parade.
After, we enjoyed a döner kebab and ate Romanian traditional dessert with my dear friends from yourtale.ro. They were so nice, kind and thoughtful. They spent so much time with me. Then, they gave me a mini city tour. Finally, we went to the Romanian National Opera. The show was great, it was a symphonic concert with Romanian songs. When we went out, Cluj-Napoca was full of lights that were shining beautifully. It was incredible and I am glad that I had the chance to experience!”
